Research to doing psychedelic journey with partner

Study: Couples & Benefits of Doing Psychedelics Together

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41496490/

This is an interesting study about the benefits of doing psychedelics together with your romantic partner. It says that it can strengthen your relationship. It shows that a journey together results in a (profound) ‘shared reality and more positive relational changes (e.g. improved physical intimacy, emotional closeness, satisfaction). Shared reality mediated positive relational changes.’

I want to add to this that the set needs to be safe and preferably you have someone sober there to ‘hold space’, to make sure all goes well, stays emotionally stable and calm and takes care of the two of you when either your or your partner’s journey enters some rough patches… If you don’t have a ‘trip sitter’ and your partner goes through some darkness, be reluctant to intervene or sooth… you might disturb the (sometimes raw) healing process.

I’d recommend to lay down, eyes closed, supportive calm music in the background. Each partner has their own mattrass and goes through their own individual journey… and after a couple of hours, after the medicine has tapered off somewhat, the window opens up to interact. Note that if you initiate contact, either verbally or physically, too soon, you might disturb the other in his/her journey and healing process. So take your time and feel when the time is right for you and for your partner to break the silence.
